SMART Families Letter to the Public Works Director, September 14, 2020
The following is a letter sent on September 14, 2020 to the City of South Pasadena Public Works Director in an effort to improve communications and coordination issues between the city and the residents:
Dear Mr. Abbas:
Enclosed is our formal letter of complaint at the lack of communication and coordination with you and your office concerning the Meridian Avenue near-term improvements. To achieve a truly collaborative and cooperative partnership between SMART Families and the Public Works Department, you must communicate with us honestly. Otherwise, our relationship will continue to be contentious.
We must forge ahead together to find solutions for Meridian Avenue in terms of pedestrian safety and traffic calming. We are here as important stakeholders and in fact we continue to grow in numbers. We will be inquiring and monitoring the progress of what the City has promised to ensure that such improvements are not delayed for six months or longer. It is time to fix Meridian Avenue, and to accept that challenge in an open and honest manner.
Once again, please identify the name and phone number of the City’s contact who will be coordinating with our representative, Ms. Susan Sulsky at smart-families (at) outlook (dot) com.
